Communicating a vision isn’t easy. Whether it’s residential or commercial, builders, architects, designers, and realtors alike go to great lengths to help their clients understand what the final product will look like. Most commonly, that means creating elaborate blueprints, building an entire model home, or even simulating the project in a computer. These techniques sadly come up far short of actually experiencing what that future home will look and feel like.
To do that, well, you’ll just have to actually BUILD the building… Right?
Well… we’ve come up with another way. Today we are visualizing the future in newer, more powerful ways.
One of these, is the use of AR technologies out at the job site. We recreate your home plans virtually in a 3D format, so that the architects, homeowners, and builders can actually walk through their creations far before they have been built. Below is a screen capture from a recent walkthrough. As you can see, the virtual home lines up with a slab, or simple markers in the dirt in a 1 x 1 ratio.
Whether it’s a commercial building, or a custom home, this experience has the potential to save thousands of dollars in design mistakes or mishaps. It creates another layer of understanding between the client and the builder, and can prevent redesign once construction has already started.
One of our favorite applications of the onsite-3D animation is it allows the builders and clients to truly tailor the home to the environment. Because we implement AR, the user can see their actual surroundings as well as the house. Look out your virtual windows and make sure they take in the best parts of the property. Watch the sun go down behind your virtual kitchen window. This way, it’s a lot easier to move a few windows around, and make sure the home captures that natural beauty.
This has infinite applications. Not only is it a truly incredible experience for clients, but it creates an unparalleled peace of mind for those who have trouble visualizing strictly based upon blueprints. Which is… well… everyone.
